Lock your phone away. Sleep in the rainforest.
Bell tents on five acres of rainforest, with a sauna, ice bath and mountain river on your doorstep. Come solo or bring someone. You'll leave part of the community.
Don't take our word for it.
"Had an amazing stay in tent by the river. A little pocket of paradise. Highly recommended."
"I stayed in one of the bell tents by the river during a big life transition, and it was deeply healing. The space is peaceful and grounding, with constant birdsong and a calm atmosphere."
"Everyone makes you feel at home and part of the family. The nature surrounding the place is simply stunning... the perfect spot to recharge, meditate, reflect and connect both to the outdoors and to people."
Your nervous system has been switched on for years. Give it two nights in the forest.
Avana is a training ground for being human. Bare feet on the earth, cold water, a hot sauna, slow mornings under the canopy and real conversations with the people around you. No schedule to keep. Nothing to perform.

Feet on the earth
Forest bathing, barefoot walks and river stone underfoot. Your body knows what to do with this.

Fire and ice
Sauna and ice bath side by side, open your whole stay. Heat, cold, breathe, repeat.

Real people
Shared kitchens, fire nights and a breathwork session that started because someone asked.

Come alone. Leave with a crew.
Plenty of people arrive on their own. Nobody stays that way for long. The house is shared, the fire is lit most nights, and the river is always better with company.
Your tent is your private space. Everything else is an open door.
What two nights
can look like.
No schedule, no itinerary. This is just what tends to happen when you give yourself the time.

Phone in the box. Shoes off.
Settle into your bell tent, walk the land, find the river.

Sauna, then the fire.
Heat, a cold plunge, then music and long conversations.

River before breakfast.
A cold dip, a slow coffee, the forest waking up around you.

Join in, or don't.
Breathwork on the lawn, a long lunch, or a hammock and a book.
G'day, I'm Alex. Welcome to Avana.
I've spent years running Wim Hof offsites around the world and leading expeditions through Africa, the Amazon and Fiji. Avana is where all of that comes home.
For the last three years I've hosted people on this land, and I've watched the same thing happen again and again. People arrive wired and tired. A couple of nights later they're laughing in the ice bath, barefoot by the river and talking to strangers like old friends.
Avana is a family run place. My mum and brother are part of it too. Come and remember how to be human.
Simple, beautiful, sorted.
The bathrooms
Our custom built toilets have glass roofs, so you look straight up into the rainforest canopy. The showers are hot, outdoors and under the stars.
A shower in the forest you will be talking about for weeks.

How do the sauna and ice bath work?
They're self serve and open anytime during your stay. We'll run you through the safety basics when you arrive.
Will there be other people around?
Usually, yes. Your tent is private, the rest of the land is shared, and that's a big part of what makes Avana feel alive.
What should I bring?
Food, swimmers, warm layers for the evenings and something comfy to move in. We've got the linen and towels covered.
Where is Avana?
841 Wilsons Creek Road, Wilsons Creek NSW. Thirty minutes from Byron Bay, in the hinterland on Bundjalung Country.
What happens after I book?
You will get a confirmation email straight away. Closer to your stay we will check in for your arrival time and an emergency contact.
